"How old" question asks for information about age:


Form: How old + am/is/are + Subject


Singular Subject:   How old is Tom?

Plural Subject:  How old are your children?

Note: We don't use yes or no in the answer. We just give some information:

→ I am 22 years old.

How old is Sam?
 → He is 19.

How old are they?
→ They are 10 and 12 years old.

How old is John?
→ He is one year old.
