"Whose" question asks for information about things we have, ownership, possession:


Form: Whose (noun) + is/are + Subject (pronoun, noun or adjective)


Singular Subject:   Whose car is this?

Plural Subject:  Whose books are these?


Note: We don't use yes or no in the answer. We just give some information:

Whose is this?
→ This is my pencil.

Whose is this book?
→ It's his book.

Whose book is this?
→ It's his book.

Whose car is that?
→ That is her car.

Whose is that car?
→ That is her car.

Whose money is this?
 → It's my money
Whose are these?
→ These are Tom's pens.

Whose are those?
→ Those are Tom's pens.
