Short Forms (Contractions)
Only with negative form of the Simple Present Tense, we can make contractions.


I, you, we, they and Plural nouns (dogs, cats, Tom and Mary...)


do not  :    don't



he, she it and singular nouns (dog, cat, Mary,...)


does not  :   doesn't


Example Sentences:

I do not know him.        I don't know him.
She does not like tea.     She doesn't like tea.

I don't work.

My brother doesn't live in Paris

It doesn't rain a lot here.

They don't have a car.

She doesn't have a house.

John doesn't know English.

John and Teddy don't like you.
